Cats are inexplicably popular on the Internet, and it’s been that way for a long time. We’re sure there were guys on back in the 80s trading descriptions of cats on ARPANET, and currently, there are more cat videos on YouTube than there are actual cats in the world.

Another big thing on the Internet is Ninjas (It it “are” Ninjas? Grammar ain’t big on the Internet). Being popular goes against their reputation for stealth, which is part of their appeal, but whatever. People love ninjas.

Now, imagine a world where these two things came together. Or, remember that world, since this video game out almost exactly a year ago.

Unlink many cat videos, Ninja Cat is doing something that most cats don’t do. It isn’t just sitting there and looking indifferent or running to the sound of a fork hitting a crystal glass. Ninja Cat has a skill, a variation on the game “red light, green light,” that is both adorable and terrifying.

Welcome to the YouTube Hall of Fame, Ninja Cat
